Being open to everyone
Regardless of age, gender, ability, disability, race,
religion or socio economic circumstance you are welcome at the YMCA. Every day
those who are less fortunate are sponsored by the Family YMCA, encouraging
individuals to grow in spirit, mind and body. No one is refused service based
on the inability to pay.
Serving people of all backgrounds
One of the magical things about the Family YMCA of Prince
George is that people of all backgrounds and abilities and circumstances are
served in YMCA programs. The term Family YMCA is a direct
reflection of those we serve. Young families, intergenerational families,
single parent families, blended families and extended families. From young moms
to grandparents and great grandparents. From preschoolers to teenagers, there
are many child and youth serving programs and activities at the YMCA. From the
very fit to those de-conditioned, from those hurt in an accident or those with
a lifelong disability, from those going to/from work to those in between work,
from those in recovery programs to those in preventative programs all are a
reflection of citizens who use our YMCA on a daily basis.
Community owned and governed
As a registered charity and not for profit society the
Family YMCA of Prince George is community owned, governed and managed by a
volunteer board of directors. Our purposes are charitable, our activities are
dedicated to our purposes and every penny we earn is dedicated to serving the
citizens of this community. Our assets are owned by both the Family YMCA and
the City of Prince George for the benefit of all citizens. The Family YMCA
exists for community benefit. |
